After a weekend of a few controversial hits, the NFL may start to suspend players who aim for the head or players who lead with their helmet to make a tackle. The NFL is totally taking this seriously. Helmet to Helmet hits are getting to be a problem, along with the number of concussions the NFL players are getting. If you bros pay attention to College Football, you may know that Rutgers University Defensive End, Eric LeGrand, made a tackle, leading with his head, and now he is paralyzed from the neck down. There is no way that a player can be completely safe because when it comes down to it, the players are looking to make big plays and the big hits and sometimes heads just happen to collide. Now the question is, Are the hits intentional? That is for the NFL to decide but you be the judge.
Take a look at these hits from over the weekend and leave a comment.

the way i see it is that if you dont wanna get hit, dont play, they call it defensless but i see them all as,"you ran through cuaght the ball which is your job and my job is to make a tackle and cause an imcomplete pass"
ReplyDeletei would hate for the NFL to go soft. i always liked it when the NFL had a full on rager.
ReplyDeletemeriweather needs to be suspended..and this is coming from a Pats fan....no need for shit like that I mean yes injuries happen in any sports but THAT was unessacary
ReplyDeleteI definitely don't want to see the NFL turn into the National Flag Football League (NFFL) so i feel you on that bro. Meriweather does need to be suspended that was a dirty hit no doubt. Hope the NFL can do something about this because I just want to watch some smash-mouth football, you feel me brononymouses? good looks on the comments keep them coming.

We talked about this stuff in my english class and because of your blog i was able to participate in the conversation. Thanks Lunchbox!
ReplyDeleteI agree the Meriweather's hit was just ridiculous and a cheap shot but some hard hits are completely legit and the players are getting fined for it. I can't see them going soft no one would watch them play flag football or two hand touch, isn't that why they get paid so much money? Obviously running helmet first into someone should give you a fine, but just because someone gets their shit rocked isn't a good enough reason to give them a fine.
